Safety is a way of life at American Constructors.

Jobsite safety is one of our highest priorities. Our outstanding safety record is not only a source of pride; it is good for morale and productivity, and saves our project owners money.

Our EMR (Experience Modification Rate) Safety Record - which is the insurance industry measuring indicator - is excellent.

Our Safety Program is led by our Senior Management and directed by our Safety Committee. Focused on keeping every job safe, the committee includes all project managers and superintendents. It also includes administrators and outside safety consultants to make sure all aspects of safety are covered and each unique perspective on safety is addressed and reviewed. These committee members take the information provided and learned at the meetings and share it with all other members on their projects. They also make it a priority to focus on continuous improvement.

Our safety program consists of the following highlights:

  • In-depth safety education, orientation and training (including the requirement that all Project Managers and Superintendents be OSHA 30-hour certified)
  • Jobsite safety meetings, including weekly toolbox safety talks
  • Third party safety observations and inspections
  • Safety First Program
  • Crisis Management Program
  • On-site Safety and Emergency Equipment, including AED's
  • Hazcom Programs
  • Emergency Contact Cards and Safety Citations
  • Company Focused OSHA Classes
